Scorsese To Build ‘The Snowman’ For Working Title

With his magical new 3D fantasy film HUGO due for release early next month, Working Title Films has announced that director Martin Scorsese will helm their new dark crime-thriller THE SNOWMAN. The film will be adapted from the Jo Nesbo international best-seller that focuses on Norwegian Detective Harry Hole and his attempts at capturing a ruthless serial killer dubbed ‘The Snowman’, due to look and position the victims bodies are left.

If the project is a hit with audiences, a franchise could be created as Nesbo’s creation has a further eight novels that feature the character of his loose-cannon and unorthodox Detective.

Jo Nesbo has recently seen his novel HEADHUNTERS adapted to huge critical success and with the legendary Scorsese rumoured to have been personally circling the project they both could create a modern crime classic.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
