Tony Scott To Take Charge Of Narco Sub

Action helmer Tony Scott has given us some of the best thrillling set-ups in movie history. Famous for making Tom Cruise a household name after TOP GUN as well as some terrific collaborations with Denzel Washington (CRIMSON TIDE, MAN ON FIRE and DEJA VU). The directors fast paced style is now as iconic as his brother Ridley’s own unique visionary epics. News has broke today that Scott is set to sign off on a deal to direct action-thriller NARCO SUB.

The script is penned by David Guggenheim, who also wrote the upcoming Nicolas Cage actioner STOLEN as well as Denzel Washington’s SAFE HOUSE, both released next year. Details of the plot are being kept under wraps but it is well know that ‘narco subs’ are used by South American drug cartels to smuggle cocaine into the U.S.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
