Currently shooting the Jack Reacher adaptation ONE SHOT with director Christopher McQuarrie, Tom Cruise has added another major lead to his already busy schedule. ALL YOU NEED IS KILL is based on the Japanese novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka that described as follows:-
There’s one thing worse than dying. It’s coming back to do it again and again… When the alien Gitai invade, Keiji Kiriya is just one of many raw recruits shoved into a suit of battle armor and sent out to kill. Keiji dies on the battlefield, only to find himself reborn each morning to fight and die again and again. On the 158th iteration though, he sees something different, something out of place: the female soldier known as the Bitch of War. Is the Bitch the key to Keiji’s escape, or to his final death?
The film will role before the cameras once work is completed on ONE SHOT and TRON: LEGACY director Joseph Kosinsky’s sci-fi actioner Horizon (although that project currently has the working title OBLIVION, so this may change). THE BOURNE IDENTITY helmer Doug Liman will direct.
Cruise also has his fourth outing as Ethan Hunt in MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – GHOST PROTOCOL due 26th December 2011 and Adam Shankman’s all-star musical ROCK OF AGES in cinemas 8th June 2012.
