Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Mark Wahlberg are reportedly circling PAIN AND GAIN, a bodybuilding comedy from Michael Bay. The director apparently has had the project in development for a number of years, which tells the true story of a group of bodybuilders dragged into a criminal operation.
The project would mark something of a change from the big-budget fare Bay is known for, such as TRANSFORMERS. With a budget of around $20 million, Bay has stated the film would have a similar feel to FARGO. Only with more explosions. And sexy machinery. And indecipherable SFX.
Wahlberg and The Rock have not officially signed but seem likely choices for PAIN AND GAIN.
