It’s official that those ‘leaked’ CIA documents that were mysteriously released on Wired and Empireonline this morning ARE part of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES viral/marketing campaign. How do we know? By their The Fire Rises Twitter page releasing a new image of a document which has led us all to a whole new website with a countdown that – currently – will give us more information of some variety within the next 24 hours.
I remember THE DARK KNIGHT viral campaign vividly, hours lost, secret puzzles, awesome codes, all gradually worked out as the Joker took control of the Batman stratosphere. This is all seemingly leaning towards Bane and his prologue, although in what exact way we don’t yet know.
In the meantime, keep an eye on TheFireRises and also, more intriguing, the Operation Early Bird website, it’s counting down as we speak…We’ve also added all three images so far just below for your viewing pleasure….Excited? Absolutely.
THE DARK KNIGHT RISES hits cinemas on July 20th 2012. Directed by Christopher Nolan and stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard and Juno Temple.
