Actress Eva Green is currently in talks to play the female lead in a prequel to Zack Snyder’s groundbreaking visual action hit 300. The title of the film, based on Frank Miller’s graphic novel ‘Xexes‘ is, 300: BATTLE OF ARTEMISIA and will be helmed by SMART PEOPLE’s Noam Murro.
Green, who made her name starring in the likes of Bond reboot CASINO ROYALE and Ridley Scott’s historical epic KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, will appear as the gold-plated unforgiving princess Artimesia, who persuades the Persian King-turned god-like figure to begin his seemingly unstoppable war.
The male lead of Themistocles is still being sought for the film after WARRIOR and THE THING’s Joel Edgerton was offered, but turned it down.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
