Budgetary problems temporarily halted Vin Diesel’s third outing as serial-killing anti-hero Richard B. Riddick, (just as filming was underway). Now another cast member has been confirmed for the sequel currently working under the title of RIDDICK. BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and 24 actress Katee Sackhoff has officially joined the cast as Dahl, a mercenary hot on trail of Diesel’s character. The role appears similar to that of Cole Hauser’s flawed bounty hunter ‘Johns’ in the franchise kick-start PITCH BLACK. Filming is now up and running once more after the films earlier problems.
Diesel will once again collaborate with director David Twohy on the science-fiction epic that both have promised will see ‘Riddick’ (with his cool-as-hell adjusted eyesight) return to the gritty roots of the originals cult classic . Overblown sequel THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK was a disaster at the box-office and also with fans, reducing Riddick’s mystique to that of a cuddly hero after a strong franchise opener.
