On the 25th of March 2012 AMC’s MAD MEN will return to our screens. Ever since the show’s hiatus after the season four finale in October 2010, fans have been eagerly anticipating the next chapter in the stories of the smooth talking Madison Avenue advertising execs.
Granted the hiatus has been a lengthy one, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. In the time that the show has been off air actress January Jones (Betty Draper) has had a baby and show-runner Matthew Weiner has not only managed to wangle the upcoming fifth season but has also been in negotiations with Lionsgate, which could well mean a sixth and possibly seventh season.
MAD MEN is without a doubt a show that will go down in television history. Its excruciating attention to detail in both set and costume design in addition to its slow-burning yet very compelling story telling style surely make it stand out against a lot of other dramas.
Thankfully MAD MEN fans can now stop fidgeting and worrying and enjoy the comfort that they will almost certainly be enjoying the series for a few years yet.
