Nicolas Cage To Travel A Dark Highway?

He may have had a disappointing year at the box-office, but Nicolas Cage is still an actor in demand. PONTYPOOL director Bruce McDonald is aiming to secure the Oscar-winning actor for his latest feature DARK HIGHWAY. The film has been scripted by Christopher Lyle and follows a man’s struggle to get to a safe location in one day, after being chased. Part of the supernatural thriller also suggests this situation may all in the mind of the central character.

After four releases in 2011, DRIVE ANGRY 3D was the one film considered a success for Cage. Run-of-the-mill thrillers TRESPASS and JUSTICE sank without trace and medieval horror SEASON OF THE WITCH didn’t fare much better. He will next be seen in GHOST RIDER sequel/reboot SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
