Will Liam Neeson Portray Wrestling Supremo Vince McMahon?

Recent rumours have been circling Hollywood that Liam Neeson will appear as the head of the hugely popular WWE in a biopic of former wrestler Chris Benoit. The story of the late wrestler is both fascinating and tragic and is expected to appear as a feature film with a screenplay entitled CROSSFACE, doing the rounds.

Benoit was a hugely popular and successful figure in the wrestling world. At the age of the 40, Benoit murdered his wife and 7-year-old son before taking his own life. The motives for the apparently loving husband and father’s actions  range from steroid abuse, brain damage and religious obsession.

When promoting his upcoming survival-thriller THE GREY, Neeson was asked if the rumours about his involvement with the project, were true. He replied by stating that he had no interest in the role, and is not a fan of wrestling. He also admitted that he knew very little about McMahon or Benoit.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
