Joey King Lets Slip About Her Dark Knight Character

Christopher Nolan’s projects are notoriously shrouded in secrecy, especially those involving a vigilante dressed as a bat. Crew members are made well aware not to leak any information. The director likes to maintain an element of mystery and surprise for his film’s audience. Try telling that to 12 year-old Joey King.

The young actress, while giving an interview to My Entertainment World, had inadvertently let slip just who she will play in the third and final outing for The Caped Crusader (with Nolan at the helm at least). So for those who would prefer to remain spoiler free; stop reading NOW!

It was so cool, I had an amazing time. I got to travel to places I’d never been to before. Christopher Nolan is so nice, so is Christian Bale. I just had the best time. I play young Talia Al Ghul. I can’t give too much away because I promised Mr. Nolan I wouldn’t say anything. There are too many secrets about the character and the movie.

So, with Talia Al Ghul playing a prominent part, could that also confirm the rumoured involvement of Liam Neeson. Neeson, of course played the character of Ra’s Al Ghul, supposedly dispatched in the finale of BATMAN BEGINS. With Nolan and some of the actors suggesting that this third outing will come ‘full circle’, that could indeed be the case. It is also possible that these characters could appear in flashback scenes. Either way, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES will be the must-see film of the year once  released on 20th July.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
