Russell Brand Secures Role As The Hauntrepreneur

Russell Brand has secured the lead role in Paramount Pictures and Platinum Dunes’ upcoming film THE HAUNTREPRENEUR, adding another role to his growing film career.

Brand’s character (The Hauntrepreneur) is said to have been hired by a family to help them build a haunted house in their new neighbourhood. The buzz around the film reports it has a feel of CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY (2005). This role will follow Brand’s previous exploration into children’s cinema – 2011’s HOP.

Paramount bought the original spec script from Scott Rosenberg last summer. Rosenberg is the screenwriting brains behind films such as CON AIR (1997) and HIGH FIDELTIY (2000).

Along with HOP, Russell also starred in last year’s ARTHUR and is set to appear in the Adam Shankman musical, ROCK OF AGES. However, the rumour that he was to take on the lead role in RENTAGHOST has now been quashed – that role now belongs to Ben Stiller.

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
