LEGO Lord Of The Rings: Meet The Fellowship

Ever wondered what Gollum, Frodo and Gandalf would look like in brick form? Wonder no more. This year sees the release of Peter Jackson’s eagerly awaited THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY, and to celebrate, LEGO are releasing a range of THE LORD OF THE RINGS products this summer in the run-up to the film.

A licensing deal between LEGO and Warner Bros last year gave the construction toy company full access to the characters and settings of the original three LOTR movies, and also allowed production of a range of sets to tie-in with THE HOBBIT, which are expected to launch in December with the film’s release.

The first wave of sets will feature most of the prominent LOTR characters – including the entire fellowship, from Aragorn to Pippin, and a range of baddies, including, yes, a miniature Gollum figure.

All the figures look fantastic, and we can’t wait to find out what LEGO have done with the classic LORD OF THE RINGS locations – Helm’s Deep, anyone?

THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY is directed by Peter Jackson and stars Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis. It is released in UK cinemas on 14th December 2012.
