Eli Roth And Russell Crowe Together At Last For ‘Harker’

One of Hollywood’s great egos (and Fordy lookalike), Russell Crowe, and one of its biggest purveyors of tripe, Eli Roth, are apparently going to be teaming up for HARKER. Crowe looks set to take the role of Dracula in this re-imagining (yawn) of Bram Stoker’s novel, who is trailed by a – not yet cast– Scotland Yard Detective. There is no doubt that adding Russell Crowe to your cast will draw some studio attention, but Roth is a filmmaker who is so outdated it’s almost laughable. Films like HOSTEL and its subsequent sequels are derivative of the 1970s exploitation flicks and, in spite of their success, are devious little pieces of cinema. But with this one you just never know; it will at least give Roth a reason to up the gore and blood count which is what he seems to get-off on.

HARKER is in pre-production with an expected release in 2014.

Favourite films include THE LOST BOYS, DRIVE, FIGHT CLUB and COMMANDO, well pretty much any 1980s Arnie film you can throw his way…even RED SONJA. Sam once cancelled a Total Film subscription after they slagged off Teen Wolf. He resubscribed 2 days later.
