Although THE WIZARD OF OZ prequel isn’t due for a US release until March 2013, OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL is already causing quite a film stir.
The above image was apparently posted on an extras Facebook page and the picture gives us our first look at a flying monkey! It’s a true evolution from the original.
James Franco is set to play Oz and joining him will be Mila Kunis as Theodora, Michelle Williams as Glinda the Good Witch, Rachel Weisz as Evanora, Zach Braff as Frank and Finley, Joey King as China Girl and Abigail Spencer as Mrs. Hamilton.
Directed by Sam Raimi, the man behind the SPIDERMAN trilogy and THE EVIL DEAD 1 & 2, this is sure to be an exciting prequel to a timeless classic.

That is not one of the flying monkeys from the movie. It’s a cool Halloween costume though.
