Focus Features have released the first official poster for their upcoming summer ‘comedy apocalypse’, SEEKING A FRIEND FOR THE END OF THE WORLD.
The film stars Steve Carell as Dodge, a man whose wife leaves him days before the Earth’s predicted apocalypse. With the help of neighbour Penny (Keira Knightley), they set out to find Dodge’s childhood sweetheart, (hopefully) in time for their impending doom. Will they find her before they get hit by an asteroid? Or will something happen between the two of them?
The film is a directorial debut for screenwriter Lorene Scafaria, who adapted the novel for the film NICK AND NORAH’S INFINITE PLAYLIST (2008).
The predicted release date is 22nd June, 2012.
