As I posted yesterday, Focus Features has given us all a peek at the official film poster for their upcoming ‘comedy apocalypse’, SEEKING A FRIEND FOR THE END OF THE WORLD.
Now they’ve released the official trailer for the film (directed by Lorene Scafaria) which stars Steve Carell as Dodge and Keira Knightley as his sunny, optimistic neighbour, Penny.
Just days before ‘the end of the world’ via asteroid, Dodge’s wife leaves him. Alone and lonely, he decides he wants to find his childhood sweetheart before The End. The trailer also gives us a little background on Penny: Keira’s character is English – living in America – and is scared she will ‘never see her family again’. The two decide to pair up and travel across the States to find the ones they love before their impending doom.
This seems like a fitting character for Carell and it’ll be good to see Knightley in something not so serious.
The predicted release date is 22nd June, 2012.
