We already knew Tom Cruise would headline TRON: LEGACY director Joseph Kosinski’s next science-fiction epic OBLIVION. We also confirmed a few weeks ago that Andrea Riseborough and Olga Kurylenko would also feature in the film and now we can confirm the great Morgan Freeman will also join the project. Cruise will star as one of the last men of a decimated earth, who is tasked with hunting down the alien-race responsible for planet’s demise. There is no word as yet of just what role Freeman will take, but it is said to be ‘crucial’.
The post-apocalyptic film is scheduled to begin shooting in the next few months, now that Cruise has completed work on his Jack Reacher actioner ONE SHOT. A release date of 19th July 2013 has already been set for OBLIVION.
