THN Top Tens: Memory Loss Movies

THE VOW is released in cinemas across the UK from today, Friday 10th February. The film, from Sony Pictures, revolves around a newly married couple, the female half of which (Rachel McAdams) is tragically involved in an accident which sends her into a coma. After awaking from the coma she suffers severe memory loss and can’t remember any of her life with her new husband (Channing Tatum)… so he has to fight to win her heart all over again.

Memory loss in the movies is no new thing, so to tie in with the release, we take a look at the top ten.

  • Synopsis: Henry Roth is a man afraid of commitment up until he meets the beautiful Lucy. They hit it off and Henry think he’s finally found the girl of his dreams, until he discovers she has short-term memory loss and forgets him the very next day…and the next day…and the next.

Dean sees a neat way to regain the money she owes him… he tells her she’s his wife; that way Dean gets a free housekeeper and mother for his four kids.

    Would you consider Groundhog Day a movie about memory loss? Bill Murray remembers living the same day over and over again, but no one else does!
