On Sunday the 12th of February LA was host to the illustrious Grammys in which comedian Louis CK chose not to attend, yet walked away with an award for his 2011 release HILARIOUS.
The actor, comedian, writer, director, editor and producer chose to spend the Sunday evening cooking dinner for his two kids instead of spending the night in Hollywood, he received the news whilst slaving over a hot stove.
‘Im cooking rice green beans, steak for the kids (gf chicken fingers too) and someone just told me i won a Grammy. well golly.’ Tweeted C.K upon hearing the news.
‘Thank you to whoever decides to give those things to people. And thank you to people who buy things that i make and then laugh.’
CK’s HILARIOIUS, other than being awarded a Grammy, has received critical praise and gathered two Primetime Emmy nominations for ‘Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Special’ and ‘Outstanding Picture Editing for a Special (Single or Multi-Camera)’.
Louis CK is quickly becoming one of the US’s most highly regarded comic personalities. His time and dedication for his art is outstanding and the work that he produces is of such a high quality and compiled of such original material, that it comes as no surprise that he is receiving all of this admiration.
CK is set to develop a new sitcom fort CBS that will follow a bunch of down on their luck kids trying to achieve their dreams despite the economic hardship they face. If you can’t get enough of CK until then you might be able to catch him hosting the 68th Annual Radio & Television Congressional Correspondents Dinner in Washington DC in June, but I very much doubt that will air anywhere in the UK… Ah well.
