First Clip From The Amazing Spider-Man Has A Familiar Feel

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN viral campaign has unlocked the first clip to feature Andrew Garfield’s web-slinging hero Peter Parker in a familiar predicament, to that of Tobey Maguire. Sam Raimi’s visually stunning, if somewhat flawed trilogy, often saw Maguire’s Parker trading insults and made the ‘butt of the joke’, by Bruce Campbell’s snooty usher/doorman on a number of occasions.

Lets hope Marc Webb’s reboot will feel a lot fresher that this first clip, although not wanting to be too harsh on the upcoming superhero flick, their have been some inspired casting decisions made. The best being Andrew Garfield, who gave some astonishing performances in the likes of RED RIDING, BOY A and NEVER LET ME GO.

Joining Garfield, will be Emma Stone, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott and Rhys Ifans; who will portray the villainous Curt Connors, aka The Lizard. THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN is released 4th July.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
