With only a month until its release date, THE HUNGER GAMES is having more and more promotional material released – and today is no different.
Lionsgate have released the new IMAX banner to help promote their upcoming film, which stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, a teenage girl who volunteers herself to compete in the Hunger Games.
Based on the novel trilogy by Suzanne Collins, the film is based in Panem, the ruins of what once was North America. Each year, the twelve districts of Panem are asked to submit one teenage boy and girl to compete in the Games – where only one competitor will survive. Whereas some competitors – called Tributes – have trained for the Games their whole lives, Katniss has to survive on her instincts and mentoring from former victor, Haymitch Abernathy (Woody Harrelson).
The film also stars Josh Hutcherson (Peeta Mellark), Liam Hemsworth (Gale Hawthorne), Elizabeth Banks (Effie Trinket), Lenny Kravitz (Cinna), Donald Sutherland (President Snow), Stanley Tucci (Caesar Flickerman) and Wes Bentley (Seneca Crane).
THE HUNGER GAMES is set for release in IMAX and conventional cinemas from 23rd March, 2012.
