Michael Fassbender And Ridley Scott Team Up For The Counselor

As if Michael Fassbender didn’t have enough on his plate with sci-fi film PROMETHEUS released on 1st June, he’s now lined up to be working with the very same director, Ridley Scott, on the author Cormac McCarthy’s  THE COUNSELOR.

Whisperings of the pair teaming up for what insiders are calling “No Country For Old Men on steroids” have been floating around for some time, but Deadline have recently confirmed Fassbender having committed to the project.  Further plot details are scarce, however, the story is set to follow an esteemed lawyer’s fall from grace after he naively believes he can involve himself in the drug business and come away unscathed.

Not only is Fassbender signed to THE COUNSELOR but he’s also set to join Steve McQueen for TWELVE YEARS A SLAVE, a period tale of a young man that is sold into slavery in the mid 1800s – Is there anything he’s not involved with?

THE COUNSELOR is set to start production 1st May and looks scheduled for release in 2013.
