It looks like Robert Zemeckis, Steve Starkey and Jack Rapke will have a busy couple of years in front of them, as it has been reported that Universal have taken on the novel manuscript for DEMONOLOGIST, written by Andrew Pyper.
ImageMovers, the production company run by Zemeckis, Starkey and Rapke are to produce the project, after signing on with Universal to take on a two year, first-look production deal. Universal have offered an early deal for the rights to the story, which focuses on a professor who studies the book Paradise Lost. Before he sets out on a free trip to Italy, a demonic spirit sets out to kill his daughter. Abandoning his plans, the professor goes on a mysterious journey to try and get her back.
Obviously this is still in a very early stage of production, so it will be interesting to see who they cast in the film and what they do to thicken the plot.
