This latest film from DAZED AND CONFUSED director Richard Linklater has an interesting premise to go with the decent cast that appears to be playing-against-type. Jack Black plays the fact-based title character BERNIE, a local and seemingly nice-enough Texas mortician who went on to befriend and murder 81 year-old wealthy widow, Marjorie Nugent in that thing they call real-life. Bernie gave the illusion to the community that Marjorie was alive and kicking for a huge number of months before his devious plan became his undoing.

BERNIE also stars Matthew McConaughey as the local Sheriff and Shirley McClaine as the unfortunate Marjorie Nugent.
