Moretz And Grint Join The Drummer

It has been confirmed that Chloe Moretz and Rupert Grint have signed on to join the cast of THE DRUMMER, the biopic portraying the last 6 years of the life of Beach Boys drummer, Dennis Wilson.

The pair will be joining Aaron Eckhart (THE DARK KNIGHT) and Vera Farmiga (UP IN THE AIR) on set as the film charts Wilson’s last six years alive – during this period it is said he made his finest work, particularly with his solo album Pacific Ocean Blue.

Eckhart will play Wilson and it has been reported that he’s started learning to play the drums and piano, while also learning to sing for the role. Wilson was the only Beach Boy to surf and sadly drowned in 1983.

Grint, who is best known for playing Ron Weasley in the HARRY POTTER franchise, will play Wilson’s friend Stan Shapiro, while Moretz (KICK ASS) will star as Wilson’s daughter, Jennifer.

It’s great to see Grint picking up roles that are completely different to his original wizarding world and it’ll be interesting to see how he works with young starlet Moretz, whose role in KICK ASS definitely caused a stir.

THE DRUMMER is currently in pre-production.

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
