Teaser Trailer Released For The Host

We posted yesterday that People Magazine had printed pictures from the Stephenie Meyer-book adaptation THE HOST – and now we bring you the teaser trailer.

Taken from the book of the same name – written by TWILIGHT author Meyer – the film sees a war waged against alien beings from another planet who invade Earth and take over human bodies. Our main character, Melanie Stryder (Saoirse Ronan, THE LOVELY BONES), has been possessed by a ‘soul’ called Wanderer – but Melanie isn’t giving in just yet…

Also starring in the film are Max Irons as Jared Howe, Jake Abel as Ian O’Shea, William Hurt as Jeb Stryder, Diane Kruger as The Seeker, Boyd Holbrook as Kyle O’Shea, Chandler Canterbury as Jamie Stryder and Frances Fisher as Maggie Stryder.

We still have over a year until the release date, so any fans of the book have a long wait. The question is – will it be as successful as the TWILIGHT franchise? It’s got a lot to live up to, fandom-wise – maybe they’re trying to entice us early, just in case…

THE HOST, directed by Andrew Niccol, is set for release 29th March, 2013.
