New Trailer For The Intouchables

After reaching success in France, THE INTOUCHABLES is opening in the US later this year and here is a first look at its trailer.

Based on a true story, the film follows the life of an aristocratic business and social leader, who after a paragliding accident is left a quadriplegic and suddenly turned into a helpless figure. After hiring a most unlikely caregiver, an unemployed, hot-headed and lonely Algerian immigrant, Philippe regains his strength and passion for living. What he comes to realize is that his caregiver is just as lost and isolated as he is.

In addition to its success, THE INTOUCHABLES has also been surrounded by a high level of controversy, after a ultra right wing French politician Jean Marie Le Pen condemned it for shining a good light on France’s immigrant community.

THE INTOUCHABLES is directed by Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano and stars Francois Cluzet, Omar Sky and Anne Le Ny. It will be released by The Weinstein Company in the US on 25th May

I just saw this movie in Italian. My Italian is not perfect, but I think Omar Sky plays someone from Senegal, not Algeria. Check the screenplay.
