Anchorman Sequel Gets The Green Light!

Adam McKay’s ANCHORMAN is possibly one of the most quotable comedy of the past decade. The hilarious (mis)adventures of San Diego’s 1970’s news-anchor Ron Burgundy was a huge hit in 2004, with an all-star cast headed by Will Ferrell as the cult hero.

Now confirmation has come via Ferrell (in character on the Conan O’Brien talk-show), that Burgundy will indeed return for a follow-up sequel that will also feature Steve Carrell’s Brick Tamland and the Sex Panther wearing Brian Fantana, played by the equally brilliant Paul Rudd. It is not yet known if Christina Applegate will return as Tits Magee… sorry, Veronica Corningstone

The first installment shot so many improvisational scenes that the DVD release came with an actual whole new movie entitled WAKE UP RON BURGUNDY: THE LOST MOVIE that was put together with the unused footage .

Here’s the clip of that moment Burgundy announced the exciting news. So remember…Stay Classy:

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
