As a director, Ivan Reitman has brought the world some damn enjoyable movies, GHOSTBUSTERS, KINDERGARTEN COP and the ace political comedy DAVE. Having said that he has also unleashed JUNIOR, FATHER’S DAY and MY SUPER EX-GIRLFRIEND, a trio of dire efforts featuring some of Hollywood’s biggest names.
A film that falls somewhere between the two, was TWINS. A massive box-office hit from 1988 starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito as pair of long-lost siblings who become mixed up in some criminal-comic hi-jinx while searching for their biological mother.
Well how would you like a sequel almost 25 years on? One that will see Schwarzenegger’s Julius and DeVito’s Vincent discover they have in fact another sibling, making them not surprisingly, by the title of the upcoming effort, TRIPLETS. To be honest THN doesn’t really care either, but fans of the two actors may also run a mile, as talks are under way for Eddie Murphy to join them in the dreadful sounding project.
A new director is being sort, as Ivan Reitman is not expected to return to the helm, but will serve as producer.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
