The DIE HARD franchise is known not only for Bruce Willis running around, saving innocent civilians whist dirtying his pristine white vest, but for its villains too: from the originals Alan Rickman as the iconic Hans Gruber, through to William Sandler’s terrorist colonel in the first sequel and Jeremy Irons blonde-haired gold thief in DIE HARD WITH A VENGEANCE. A villain with relish, makes the series a whole lot of fun.
Timothy Olyphant’s high-tech computer hacker was John McClane’s nemesis in the last outing, and now THE LIVES OF OTHERS Sebastian Koch, will take over that mantle as Komorov and will go head-to-head with McClane…and McClane Jr. Joining him will be up and coming Russian actress Yulia Snigir as Koch’s sidekick Irina.
The current US title of A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD, will no doubt be changed for us here in the UK, just as the fourth film DIE HARD 4.0 was changed from LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD. The plot for the upcoming film will see Willis transported to Moscow to team-up with his son, played by SPARTACUS: BLOOD AND SAND star Jai Courtney. MAX PAYNE and THE OMEN director John Moore is (unfortunately) at the helm.
