Seminal hip-hop group NWA could finally be set for a biopic entitled STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON, which will chart the formation and subsequent shenanigans of Dr Dre, Ice Cube and Easy-E amongst others.
F Gary Gray is rumoured to be in final talks to direct and this could be one to keep an eye out for given NWAs story was never dull and always controversial; also given Gray’s previous work on THE ITALIAN JOB (2003) and LAW ABIDING CITIZEN (2009) there is a lot to look forward to. We also believe at THN that Gray has turned down the opportunity to direct CAPTAIN AMERICA 2 to take up this highly promising project.
STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON is in pre-production with no scheduled release date currently!
