Jason Reitman’s ‘Labor Day’ Casts Two More

Director Jason Reitman’s career really took off after the Oscar-winning triumph of his small but superb comedy, JUNO. Since then his output has been pretty great, with acclaimed efforts UP IN THE AIR and YOUNG ADULT, leading the way for his next project LABOR DAY. Based on the novel by Joyce Maynard, LABOR DAY will see Kate Winslet star as depressed mother Adele, who along with her son, unwittingly offer Josh Brolin’s escaped convict, a ride to freedom.

Today we have news that former DAWSON’S CREEK star James Van Der Beek will join the cast; as well as rising young child actor Gattlin Griffith.Tom Lipinski and Maika Dillon Monroe has also previously been cast. Shooting is expected to commence later this year for an expected released for sometime in 2013.
