We’ve got the trailer and some great new images for Whit Stillman’s cutting DAMSELS IN DISTRESS, out this weekend in the UK!
Following a circle of women who undertake the task of challenging a male dominated environment and tackling their peers depression using the profound powers of tap dance and doughnuts, the film looks set to be an enjoyable watch. If not for the plot, definitely for Greta Gerwig whose deadpan brilliance is evident in the trailer.
Leading the gaggle of girls, Gerwig takes the role of Violet, the driving force in implementing change at Seven Oaks College alongside the prim and proper Rose (Megalyn Echikunwoke) and provocative Heather (Carrie MacLemore.) Analeigh Tipton (CRAZY, STUPID, LOVE) as the new transfer student and Adam Brody (COP OUT) as her dashing admirer also star in this slightly forced depiction of the young and studious.
