Watch! Men In Black III Chase Sequence Clip!

Creatively, MEN IN BLACK III is something of a risk. Whilst the franchise’s overall concept is an absolute corker, the first movie lacked substance beneath the CGI-heavy surface, and the second movie just plain sucked alien balls. Here’s hoping director Barry Sonnenfeld has been taking notes and learning from his mistakes, especially as this third installment lacks the previous movies’ key factor: the pairing of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. For those who don’t know, MEN IN BLACK III will see Smith’s Agent J travel back to the 1960s to stop dastardly alien Boris (Jermaine Clement) destroying the world (or something like that). This time around, J will team with a younger version on his longtime partner Agent K, with Josh Brolin taking the reigns from Tommy Lee Jones.

Despite this, the upcoming three-quel has plenty going for it too: the addition of Brolin for starters (sporting a spot-on impression of Jones’ voice), the 1960s setting, and FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS star Jermaine Clerment on villain duties. It should also boast some imaginative and exciting set pieces (the most consistent feature of the first two movies), and as this brand new clip shows, the MIB boys are still making good use of that extra-terrestrial technology.

MEN IN BLACK III arrives in UK cinemas 25th May 2012.
