Only a few days ago, we confirmed that DISTRICT 9 lead Sharlto Copley was set to make life hell for Josh Brolin’s character, in Spike Lee’s remake of Chan-wook Park’s dark Korean masterpiece OLDBOY. Brolin has since confirmed the film, co-starring Elizabeth Olsen, will shoot in October. Now it also appears Copley is in talks for the male lead of ‘King Stefan’ in the live-action re-telling of the SLEEPING BEAUTY fairytale, albeit told from the villains perspective. MALEFICENT was a project specifically written for Angelina Jolie to star as Princess Aurora’s evil nemesis. Copley’s role was originally rumoured for Jude Law, but is now expected to feature THE A-TEAM actor alongside Jolie and SUPER 8’s Elle Fanning, who is set for the role of the snoozing royal. Visual effects mastermind Robert Stromberg makes his directorial début.
