Here is the third trailer for Aaron Sorkin’s new drama THE NEWSROOM, starring Jeff Daniels.
As demonstrated in trailers one and two, THE NEWSROOM looks to carry the wit and gravitas that made THE WEST WING and STUDIO 60 so damn good. Far too liberal for some (dicks), Sorkin is at his best when his work is politically infused, but never losing sight of the characters and their own social microcosms. This new trailer gives us a better look at the supporting players in what will hopefully be one of the big television events of the year.
We are particularly excited about the inclusion of SKINS alumni Dev Patel and star of SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD, Alison Pill. Here’s the official synopsis and new trailer.
This new series centers on a cable news anchor (Jeff Daniels), his new executive producer (Emily Mortimer), his newsroom staff (John Gallagher, Jr., Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski, Dev Patel, Olivia Munn) and their boss (Sam Waterston). Together they set out on a patriotic and quixotic mission to do the news well in the face of corporate and commercial obstacles and their own personal relationships.
