Cusack Due To Harmonize With Wood In Grand Piano

John Cusack is currently involved in negotiations to co-star with Elijah Wood in the forthcoming, GRAND PIANO. Although he has not always made the best decisions in his career – 2012 being a prime example – he nevertheless manages to remain unpredictable and eclectic in his role choices, and brings a passion and talent to the screen unlike anyone else. From BEING JOHN MALKOVICH to HOT TUB TIME MACHINE via HIGH FIDELITY, his career journey has taken him to many weird and wonderful places, and, in THN’s opinion, he is one of the most underrated actors of our time.

GRAND PIANO will be helmed by Eugenio Mira (AGNOSIA, THE BIRTHDAY), and its script has been authored by Damien Chazelle (GUY AND MADELINE ON A PARK BENCH). The narrative of said screenplay surrounds the life of a concert pianist who, to his detriment, suffers from extreme stage fright and, as a result, has been forced into early retirement. However, he does plan a comeback performance, but mere minutes beforehand, he discovers an intriguing note written on his music sheet.

Nostromo pictures will produce the film, which begins shooting in July in Spain and Chicago.

Martin has been a film buff (or geek, if you prefer) for as long as he can remember. However, he lives and longs for storytelling of all kinds, and writes across numerous mediums to feed his insatiable appetite. He lives in north-west London, and his favourite films are, possibly: PAN'S LABYRINTH, THEY LIVE, PSYCHO, HIGH FIDELITY, ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST, STAND BY ME, SIDEWAYS and OFFICE SPACE.
