Scott Wants Harrison Ford For ‘Blade Runner’ Sequel!

Before we all get excited, we should remember that Ridley Scott has already confirmed the lead protagonist for his upcoming BLADE RUNNER sequel will, in fact, be female. So just where or indeed how, will Harrison Ford’s Rick Deckard fit in with the plot of this follow-up, this after producer Andrew Kosove previously stated Ford’s character would not be involved? When asked about the forthcoming follow-up, Sir Ridley states in an interview with UK newspaper The Independent:

I don’t think it’ll be Harry [starring]. But I’ve gotta have him in it somewhere.

So all those mysterious questions from Scott’s visually stunning 1982 masterpiece, could very well be answered. Hopefully Ford agrees to come on-board, which maybe a tough ask. BLADE RUNNER was a notoriously difficult shoot and anyone that has seen the epic documentary on the making of the film will know that relationships were severely tested. THN HQ is already in an excitable, unstable mess at the prospect of his incredible-looking ALIEN-prequel PROMETHUES, due Friday. Now we are equally awestruck at the possible return of Ford as Deckard…SIGN UP NOW HARRISON, PLEASE!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
