Anne Hathaway To Lead And Produce Indie Project ‘Song One’

2012 is turning out to be a busy year for actress Anne Hathaway, even more so with a Christmas date being confirmed after this week’s release of LES MISERABLES (with that emotive trailer) as well as the THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. Not content with trying to take over the movie-planet, Anne has decided to try a role as a producer. Rumours are adrift that she hopes to return to work with her producers from RACHEL GETTING MARRIED, the role, which won the actress an Oscar nomination.

It is reported that Anne would produce and play lead in an indie romantic drama called SONG ONE, a story about a young woman who becomes romantically connected with her injured brother’s favorite musician, only to find out that he draws inspiration from her siblings.

The script was written by Kate Barker-Froyland, who was director David Drankel’s assistant in another famous Hathaway movie THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA. She would also be making her debut in the director’s chair, while Hathaway’s fiancé Adam Shulman would also act as producer.

Although a bold move from Hathaway, it is definitely a good one, as she has proven to audiences that she shines both on the big screen and on the indie scene. We’ll be keeping an eye out for developments on SONG ONE in due course.
