Marvel To Produce Black Panther Movie?

The Hollywood News may have to soon change its name to ‘The Superhero News’ – the costumed do-gooders appear to be taking over Hollywood at an alarming rate.

Following this morning’s news that Warner Bros are moving forward with a JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA movie (see here), rumours are circulating that Marvel Studios/Disney are to add BLACK PANTHER to their already-impressive roster of cinematic superheroes.

The character – real name T’Challa – is premier warrior and king of the African nation of Wakanda (don’t look it up, it’s not real). The character could bring a whole new tone to the Marvel franchise, though the studio has not confirmed whether the rumours are indeed true.

With Marvel’s sights set on an AVENGERS sequel, expect a whole new cast of characters to crop up over the next few films, and it’s likely someone like BLACK PANTHER will take the lead in on of the studio’s untitled projects currently on the slate. As T’Challa has served as an on/off member of the Avengers over the years, he could be a viable choice for an updated super team.
