The trailer and poster for FLIGHT, starring Denzel Washington, have landed (sorry).
Directed by Robert Zemeckis (BACK TO THE FUTURE) and penned by John Gatin (REAL STEEL), FLIGHT stars Washington as Whip Whitaker who is – despite sounding like an American talk show host – a pilot. During a (yep) flight, things go tits up and Whitaker miraculously crash lands the plane, averting disaster and saving almost everyone on board. Hailed as a hero, a media circus ensues and our pilot looks set for life… Until people start to question what actually happened up there.
What could have been a standard drama is elevated (sorry) by a stellar cast, including John Goodman (THE ARTIST), Don Cheadle (IRON MAN 2) Melissa Leo (THE FIGHTER) and Bruce Greenwood(SUPER 8). FLIGHT marks Zemeckis’ return to live action cinema, which he hasn’t touched since CAST AWAY (2000). His work since then (A CHRISTMAS CAROL, BEOWULF and THE POLAR EXPRESS) has been entirely motioned captured, so it’s nice to see the director leaving The Uncanny Valley.

Here’s the official synopsis-
In this action-packed mystery thriller, Academy Award winner Denzel Washington stars as Whip Whitaker, a seasoned airline pilot who miraculously crash-lands his plane after a mid-air catastrophe, saving nearly every soul on board. After the crash, Whip is hailed as a hero, but as more is learned, more questions than answers arise as to who or what was really at fault, and what really happened on that plane?
