Taken 2 Trailer Released

TAKEN 2 has released a trailer. TAKEN became a surprise runaway success in 2008, grossing over $145 million at the US box office on an estimated $25 million budget. All that, even though an uncut version of the film was available as a torrent at the time of release due to it opening in the UK three months earlier.

TAKEN 2 sees relatives of those that faced Neeson’s wrath last time around, coming for revenge. This time it’s Neeson’s wife, played by Famke Janssen, that is taken. This will no doubt result in lots of fire-fights, fisticuffs, and Neeson being a bad-ass.

I’m in the minority in that I really couldn’t stand the first film. I found the entire plot ridiculously coincidental to the point of parody. The sequel seems to make a bit more sense as Neeson’s family is being targeted on purpose.

TAKEN 2 will be released on 5th October 2012. It stars Liam Neeson, Famke Janssen, and Maggie Grace. Olivier Megaton (best name ever for an action director) takes over from PierreMorel.
