These days, a blockbuster isn’t a blockbuster without some supplementary trinkets and baubles to beef up interest beyond the film itself. And this year’s most-anticipated blockbuster – THE DARK KNIGHT RISES – is no exception. This time it’s an official document discovered on promotional site dewgothamcity.com – the legacy of the deceased DA Harvey Dent, killed after his transformation to Two-Face in the closing moments of THE DARK KNIGHT. As ‘Gotham’s White Knight’, Dent was on a mission to clean up the rotten city, and though he eventually turned to murder, it seems his good work may have lived on in the ‘Dent Act’. The act, signed off by Gotahm’s mayor, gives Police Commissioner the power to do what he needs in the war on crime – whilst well-intwentioned, is the act also creating a police state? We will have to wait until 20th July to find out…
