First Look At James Franco In ‘Oz’ Prequel

With just under a year until its release, we’ll be expecting much more information from OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL to be released over the coming months. But for now we’ll have to do with a small promo poster featuring James Franco’s well-chiseled face.

Franco stars as Oscar Diggs, a magician who is thrown from Kansas all the way to the magical and mysterious world of Oz. When he arrives, the townspeople are disappointed as they’d been promised a wizard – someone who could help run the town properly. However, as he starts to discover who to trust and who is evil, he finds that he can be the man everyone wants him to be…all it takes is a little magic. Featuring alongside Franco will be Michelle Williams (Glinda the Good Witch), Mila Kunis (Theodora), Rachel Weisz (Evanora), Abigail Spencer (Mrs Hamilton) and Zach Braff (Frank and Finley). With a cast list this talented I’m expecting big things!

Directed by Sam Raimi, the mastermind behind the SPIDERMAN trilogy, I’m sure his name alone will bring audience members in. However, the added factor of the cast and the promise of spectacular scenery is what’s going to pull me in.

OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL, directed by Sam Raimi, is currently filming. It’s due for release from 8th March 2013.

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
