Two of modern comedy’s heavyweights, Will Ferrell and Zak Galifianakis, will go head to head in the forthcoming satirical comedy, THE CAMPAIGN, and we now have two new promotional campaign posters to add to the trailer and film poster. In what looks like it will be a preposterous tongue-in-cheek affair, two rival North Carolina politicians, Cam Brady (Ferrell), and Marty Huggins (Galifianakis), grapple with each other in the vain hope of one day becoming president of the US. As you can imagine, their ignorance and imbecility prevail over their leadership skills and political prowess; with mirthfully catastrophic results.
It seems both candidates have chosen uninspiring animals to symbolise their political stance; well, there have to be some shades of realism involved. Brady is represented by the cold and calculated bald eagle, whereas Huggins shows his soft and fluffy side with a couple of adorable puppies. Ruthlessness or unattainable idealism? The surprisingly familiar choice is yours! THN have done some research into the matter, and we assure you this is not a documentary, it is a work of fiction.
THE CAMPAIGN is directed by Jay Roach (THE AUSTIN POWERS TRILOGY), written by Chris Henchy (THE OTHER GUYS) and Shawn Harwell (EASTBOUND AND DOWN), and has an impressive supporting cast, which includes Jason Sudeikis, Sarah Baker, Katherine LaNasa, Dylan McDermott, Brian Cox, John Lithgow, and Dan Aykroyd. It is due for release in the US on 10th August, and in the UK on 28th September.
Martin has been a film buff (or geek, if you prefer) for as long as he can remember. However, he lives and longs for storytelling of all kinds, and writes across numerous mediums to feed his insatiable appetite. He lives in north-west London, and his favourite films are, possibly: PAN'S LABYRINTH, THEY LIVE, PSYCHO, HIGH FIDELITY, ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST, STAND BY ME, SIDEWAYS and OFFICE SPACE.
