Extraterrestrial Trailer

Sometimes it’s nice to give a shout-out to those smaller movies, so here is a short trailer for EXTRATERRESTRIAL, a Spanish Sci-Fi comedy, . EXTRATERRESTRIAL focuses on a man named Julio as he awakens in a strange apartment after a one night stand. The situation becomes complicated upon the arrival of his one-night-stands ex-boyfriend. If that wasn’t bad enough, a huge alien spaceship is now hovering over the city.

The film is written and directed by Nacho Vigalondo, the man behind the exceptional TIMECRIMES (2007). It looks as though he is once again taking Sci-Fi in a different direction by mixing your average quirky romance tale with the spectacle of big budget projects. Director Jason Reitman is quoted in the trailer as saying this is ‘The Woody Allen of Science Fiction’ which certainly has me excited.

At just over 30 seconds the trailer may seem short, but it seems to perfectly capture what the film is about.

EXTRATERRESTRIAL is currently showing in select US cinemas, and is available on iTunes. It will also receive a US DVD release on July 17th. No word yet on a UK release. It stars Julian Villagran, Michelle Jenner, and Carlos Areces.
