FRINGE has a bit of a cult audience, myself included, but I’d highly recommend it from the beginning and especially as we’re only about to hit Season 5, the final conclusion of the unique series. For those not in the know, FRINGE is based in the world of a FBI team that use ‘fringe science’ to investigate strange happenings. Yes, there are nods X-FILES but with less Aliens and more neuroscience, hypnosis, parallel universes and a continual nod to the benefits of LSD, seriously.
**MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD!**
If you’ve just finished Season 4, you’ll know there’s a jump to 2036 for a very specific reason and episode. We’ve been told that in the season premiere, we’ll move there again to discover what’s been going on and why the team have been sealed in amber for 20 years. Also, expect an announcement at the up-coming Comic Con, executive producer JH Wyman had this to say:
“The Comic-Con panel is something I always look forward to, but this year it’s bittersweet, I think we have lots of good stuff in store for them.”
Here’s the poster but scroll down for a quote from the excellent John Noble (Walter Bishop) about what we might expect PLUS the front cover of the script for the opening Season 5 episode:
John Noble had this to say about his hopes for the season 5 opener:
“Walter, Olivia, Astrid and Peter are insurgents, so we know all the dirty tricks that have been played against us. We’ll be learning from the past.”
And his thoughts on the general conclusion, for his and Peter’s relationship:
“Walter is the man who started this, so there has to be resolution. There has to be redemption. We also have to see the final maturing of the relationship between Peter and Olivia, because it has been so difficult for them and we want them so much to be with each other. I would love to see the Peter/Walter relationship come back to where it was.”
