With Great Power Comes Great Box-Office: ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ Sets A Record

Yep, THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN – as reported yesterday – got off to an okay start with midnight showings. But it went full on in the daytime and evening showings for 4th July, recording the biggest ever Tuesday opening with $35 million. Now, Tuesday isn’t the biggest day for opening films but it’s still an impressive figure and ‘experts’ predict it will have hit close to $150 million by Monday, which is pretty massive even for an Independence Day week. Sony will undoubtedly be impressed if this comes to fruition, the little money grabbers.

What do you think of this, or have you seen the movie and what did you reckon? Let us know and lets create a vast THN community.

Sam is a bloody lovely lad born and raised in Bristol (he’s still there and can’t escape). Favourite films include THE LOST BOYS, DRIVE, FIGHT CLUB and COMMANDO, well pretty much any 1980s Arnie film you can throw his way…even RED SONJA. Sam once cancelled a Total Film subscription after they slagged off Teen Wolf. He resubscribed 2 days later.
