Before screenings of ICE AGE 4: CONTINENTAL DRIFT, the audience will be treated to a surprise from THE SIMPSONS, a foray into 3D and also a little homage to silent shorts in THE LONGEST DAYCARE starring….Maggie! In the short, the youngest Simpson is forced to stay at the ‘Ayn Rand School for Tots’ and has to go through a tough process of tests before being left in the rough side of town, er, daycare. Her fight to find something lovely, is repeatedly foiled by a uni-browed tot named Gerald, an evil child who loves to literally stamp or crush anything Maggie finds happiness in.
Having seen the full orchestral-scored 4 and a half minutes, I’m happy to report that it’s definitely an adventure from THE SIMPSONS team and although it doesn’t blow you away, it definitely holds that charm we remember from the earlier seasons.
